Born in Rome, I started my make-up career in 1987, working with the most important Italian Make Up Artists.
After various experiences working in cinema and in films made for television, I transferred to New York, where, for a year and a half, I dedicated myself to beauty make-up, fashion and make up for stills photography.
In 1991 I worked on many Italian and international feature films; work that has allowed me to grow technically and to specialize in the field of Special Make-up Effects and the hand laying of facial hair for beards and moustaches and the application of bald caps.

During 1994 I met English Make-up Artist Ian Brown and began a collaboration which endures to this day, fusing the discipline of traditional make up with that of three dimensional prosthetic appliances and special effects make-up. Together we have opened two workshops; one in Wales and the other in Rome.
Ian Brown is an English Make-up Artist, specializing in the design and creation of prosthetic make-up.
He is known for his work on feature films, spanning 3 decades, such as Nightbreed and Kull the Conqueror, and the TV series The Tudors and George Gently.
He currently lives in Dolgellau, North Wales in the UK, where he maintains and runs a small prosthetics workshop. He collaborates closely with Giuseppe Desiato and also helps him in his own workshop in Rome, Italy.

My Work Skills

In period movies, the make-up is a very important element in the definition and realization of the characters in a specific and accurate historical context.

Beauty make up easily and naturally enhances the face of an actor.

One very important skill that you require as a film makeup artist is the ability to completely transform a character applying beards, moustaches, goatees and sideburns.

Prosthetic make up provides producers and directors with the opportunity to transform the face and the body of an actor in 3 dimensions.
